She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh W. Helmick and Katherine Helmick (Dumire); her husband C. Dwaine Mersing, Sr.; her son Clyde D. Mersing, Jr.; and her siblings, Hugh, Joann and Twila.

She is survived by: her children, Terry A. Mersing (Sharon), Randy L. Mersing, Gary L. Mersing (Becky) and Kathern "Kathy" Mersing; her siblings, Arthur Helmick, William Helmick and Barbara Bias; and her pet LuLu. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home (105 Highland Ave, Terra Alta, WV 26764).
