He is survived by: his wife Naomi "Ruth" Simmons Nelson; his daughter Lori Michele Roberson (Lee); his siblings, Janice Hiett (Ed) of Brandywine Two, Keith Nelson (Phyllis) of Mt. Solon, VA and Jim Nelson (Gladys) of Harrisonburg; and his grandson Jayden Lee Roberson.
