He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Gaines and Eva Killard Gaines; and his brothers, Huey, Henry and Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Brown Gaines; his children, Tahsha Massie (Michael Mullins) of Philippi and Eric Gaines of Clarksburg; his grandson Devon Gaines of Clarksburg; his brothers, James Gaines of Fairmont and Jack Gaines (Lenora) of Stonewood; his brother-in-law Ralph Brown (Carolyn); and his pets, Chelsi, Abby and Bentley.
