He is survived by: his nephew Shawn Deer (Missy); his friend Jerry Calandros; his caregiver Jennifer Spaulding; his sisters, Patty Ferguson (Dan), Ann Deer (George), Teresa Ashworth (Neil) and Tina Fisher; and his nieces and nephews, Chris Ashworth, Shannon Orso, Jamie Green (Ernie), Peggy Backus (Scott), Sylvia Stutler (Jason) and Leigh Ann McKinney (Danny).
