She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Ellis and Virgie McKinney (Bishop); her husband Stewart Edward "Buddy" Bowden; and her siblings, Lewis, Buren, Orlan McKinney, Effie Foley and Maxine McKinney.
She is survived by: her children, Tammy Jane Estrada (Lee) of Winston-Salem, Tina Sizemore of Basin, Rebeca Arvai (Wayne) of Bluefield, Charles Bowden (Erica) of Crab Orchard and Ira Bowden (Stephanie) of Princeton; her grandchildren, Geoff Wells, Anthony Wilson, Alexandria Sizemore, Nicholas Bowden, Zachary Bowden and Ashley Bowden; her great grandchildren, Summer and Alexis Browning; and her sisters, Ada McKinney and Linda Blevins. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
