She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Earl Hines and Mae Belle Carlisle Hines; and her husband John L. Steward, Sr.. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Her health began to deteriorate and with the onset of dementia and Alzheimer's, the last 10+ years were a struggle.
