He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Updike and Mable Updike; and his siblings, Larry Updike and Charlotte Updike. He is survived by: his wife Lois "Genene"; his sons, Shane Updike and Chris Rutherford (Lori); his granddaughter Hali Rutherford; his sister Delores Updike; and his pet Liddy.
