She was predeceased by: her parents, Brooks Utt and Theo Scyoc Utt; her husband Billie Shimp; her sisters, Sharon Utt and Carolyn Wilcox; her grandson Gregory Brabham; and her daughter-in-law Patricia Shimp.

She is survived by: her children, Joyce Brabham (Clayton) of Reedy, Ray Shimp (Angie) of Liverpool and Billie Lee Shimp (Janet) of Liverpool; her siblings, Wilda "Wig" Lockhart (Bernard) of Lockhart, WV and Delmar "Bub" Utt of Liverpool; her grandchildren, Terry Brabham (Beth) of Gay, WV, Ryan Brabham (Lindsay) of Reedy, April Reynolds (Jamison) of Bunker Hill, WV, Jessica Welsh (Robert) of Hurricane, WV, Megan Haverty (Adam) of Liverpool, Katie Biller (Jeremy) of Galloway, WV, Emily Cochran (Zack) of Oak Harbor, WA and Billie Shimp, II; her stepgrandchildren, Patsy Smith (Ernie) of Raleigh, NC and Andy Anderson (Tish) of Kenna, WV; her great grandchildren, Garrett, Wyatt, Noah, Evan Brabham, Patrick, Benny Reynolds, Jake, Caden Welsh and Everett Biller; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Julion, Noah Smith, Tori and Evan Anderson; and also Arlene Boggess of Liverpool. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
