He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Brown and Lola McCumbers Brown; and his brother Art Lee Brown. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn S. Fauber Brown; his children, Tabitha Brown of Clendenin, Sandra Brown of Spencer and Rodney Brown (Sarah) of Reedy; and his siblings, Basil Brown, Jr. of Cremo, Linda McCumbers of Arnoldsburg, Carol Webster of Spencer, Mary Witt of Spencer, Polly Helmick of Nicut and Susie Waggoner. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
