Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Marilyn Elaine Matics (Spencer, West Virginia), who passed away at the age of 86, on December 30, 2024. She was predeceased by: her husband Alfred "Bill" Matics; her parents, Roman Hoover and Thelma Hoover; and her grandson Joe Wehrlin. She is survived by: her children, Terry Matics (Tammy), Sue Slone (Curtis), Pam Castner (Mike) and Tracy Alder (Dale); her grandchildren, Sonia Lehman (Brandon), Curtis Slone (Kelly), Jennifer Matics, Ciptak (Ryan Commings), Dustin Boswell (Keri) and Morgan Garlick (Aaron); her great grandchildren, Seth Wehrlin, Jac, Paxton, Leo Ciptak, Finn Commings, Tyler, Drew, Alex Slone, Aaliyah, Liam, Collin Boswell, Baya and Nash Garlick; her siblings, Eldon Hoover and Betty Brown; and her brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Jim Matics. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home (206 Beauty St, Spencer, WV 25276). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gilboa Church and Fairview Cemetery Reedy, West Virginia.
