He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryan Hicks and Mary Alice Nicholson Hicks; his daughter Cara Leah Hicks Franck; and his siblings, Julia "Judy" Fetty, Twila Funk Leake, Eddie "Sonny" Hicks and Virgil Hicks.
He is survived by: his nephew Junior Hensley; his wife Christie Lea Nicoles Hicks; his son Corey Hicks (Michele Chapman) of Wake Forest, N. C.; his sister Margaret Hensley (Homer) of Spencer; and his sister-in-law Deborah Nicoles of Spencer.
