It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Ferrell of Spencer, West Virginia, who passed away on November 17, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Spence and Martha Cecilia Johnson Taylor; her husband James W. Ferrell; her children, Dewey Ferrell, Roy Ferrell, Al Ferrell and Marvilla Ferrell; her grandson Rex Allen Workman; her children-in-law, Ed Hively and Martha Ferrell; and her siblings, Johnny Taylor, Ovie Taylor, James Tom Taylor, Lloyd Taylor, Minnie Hunt, Sylvia Lanham, Gay Ashby, Opal Moore, Lola Hunt and Ida Fields.
She is survived by: her children, Ernest "Pancho" Ferrell of Ripley, Kathleen Hively (Harold Forren, Jr.) of Spencer and Brenda Fields (Howard) of Spencer; and her friends, Jeff and Charlotte Fetty of Spencer. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren.
