He was predeceased by: his parents, Herby Ferrald and Emma Lene Linkinoggor Gray. He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Gray of Mason and Herby F. Gray, III of Petersburg; his stepdaughter Tina Drake of Walton; and his siblings, Sammy Gray of Left Hand and Suzie May of Left Hand. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
