He was predeceased by: his parent Roy Benjamin; his wife Sandra Potts; and his brothers, Roy B. "Benny" Potts, Jr. and John Helton. He is survived by: his parent Georgia Lee Helton Potts, Sr.; and his children, Jackie Miller (Nancy) of Muncie, Angie Potts (Kenny Lemley) of Spencer, David E. Potts, II of Spencer, Ammy Simonds (Daniel) of Spencer and Robert Potts (Vicki) of Spencer. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
