It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lucille McPeake of Sophia, West Virginia, born in Prenter, West Virginia, who passed away on March 2, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred B Collins and Nettie Acord Collins; her husband Sammy Moyer McPeake; her sons, Samuel Alfred McPeake, Gary MacArthur Utt and Jackie Ray McPeake; her stepson Richard Moyer McPeake; her granddaughters, Jennifer Elaine McPeake and Kim Utt Meadows; and her sister Cordelia Richards.
She is survived by: her children, Paul McPeake (Judy) of Abingdon, Paula Stables (Roger) of Midway, Geraldine Cox (Les) of Sophia, Ruth Cox of MacArthur and Bonnie McPeake of Pinehurst, NC.; her sister Ella Bowman; and her close friends, Cordeline Ellis and Lona Bradbury. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
