It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Smith of Sophia, West Virginia, who passed away on April 14, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Smith to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arnold and Myrtle Mae Smith. He is survived by: his children, Melissa Halstead (Kevin) of Bradley and James Smith (Amber) of Meadow Bridge; his siblings, Mark Smith (Debbie) of Crab Orchard, Tim Smith (April) of MacArthur, Becky Nierman (Kevin) of Shady Spring and Robin Hall (Tim) of Jumping Branch; his granddaughter Kassie Halstead (Austin Brown) of Bradley; his great grandchild Kynleigh of Bradley; and his close friends, Steve, Jamie and Lawrence. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 there will be a private family memorial service at Melton Mortuary on Thursday. Social Distancing and face masks must be worn at all times.
