He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Elmore Gwinn and Sylvia Patterson Gwinn; his son Bennie L. Gwinn; his sister Catherine "Sis" Shaffer; and his grandson-in-law Kevin Starkey.
He is survived by: his wife Freda Gwinn (Cales); his daughter Bonnie L. Callison; his siblings, Leva Boardwine, Joledia Meadows and Floyd Gwinn (Sheila); his grandchildren, Sarah Starkey, Daniel Gwinn (Angie), Connie Callison, Kasandra McClung (Brad) and Ryan Bostic (Emily); his great grandchildren, Hunter Starkey, Tanner Starkey, Lane Seldomridge, Logan Seldomridge (Madison) and Warren Bostic; and his close friends, Arlan and Phyllis Martin. He is also survived by many other extended family and friends.
