He was predeceased by: his parents, King Turpin and Bertha Church Turpin; his wife Linda Forrest; and his siblings, Jack Turpin, Wayne Turpin, Virginia Burks and Pauline Davis.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Ayala (Tony) of Fostoria, Janice Turpin-Webb (Dennis) of Tiffin, Melinda Turpin of Skygusty, WV and Melissa Miller (Orville) of Fostoria; his grandchildren, Jessica Switzer, Daniel Miller, Danielle Webb, Desiray Fortune, Josh Green, Amanda Nitschke, Evelyn Turpin, John Jr., Amber, Adam, Angie Broski and Tabitha Ogden; and his siblings, James Turpin, Robert Turpin, Doug Turpin, Roger Turpin, Katharyn Graham, Alice Hatfield, Theresa McPhail, Linda Holcomb and Sandra Young of Alabama. He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren.
