He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Patsy Serls of Sissonville and Ralph Serls; his wife Evelyn Serls; his parents-in-law, Pauline and William Casebolt; his sisters, Janet Whittingham and Pansy Jordan; his grandparents, Audney, Hedrick Serls, Ernie Westfall and Sterlie McBride; his children, Angelia Serls (Chris), Lisa Serls and Ralph Serls (Kim); his sisters, Patricia Slater, Louise Pauley and Rita Edens; his stepsiblings, Adeline Elmore and Sonny Serls; his grandchildren, Hunter Thaxton, Hannah, Ralphie and Levi Serls; and his close friend Robin Patterson.
