He was predeceased by: his wife Lana; his parents, Shirkey Hay and Hattie Mangus Hay; and his siblings, John, Wendell, Paul, James "Jim" Hay, Mary Hay Smith and Arnetta Hay Painter.
He is survived by: his sister Rainelle Hay Painter of Sissonville; his children, Jonathan Hay (Tammy) of Charlotte, NC and Ann Humphreys (Bill) of Cross Lanes, WV; his grandchildren, Jacob Hay, Amber Hay, Allie Jeffries (Shane) and Ben Humphreys; and his great grandchildren, Malakai and Barrett Jeffries.
