He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Melton; his parents, Gordon Melton and Elsie Melton; and his siblings, Rosie Summers and Charles "Chop" Melton.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Melton Good (Rickie); his granddaughters, Ashley McClure (Sean) and Breann Elliott (James); his great grandchildren, Noah, Grant Elliott, Audrey, Claire and Max McClure; his sisters, Judy Melton Cornelius and Brenda Melton Defratus; and his close friends, Bill Lemon, Bob Taylor and Keith Sargent.
