With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Marshall Waldeck of Sissonville, West Virginia, born in Charleston, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 31, 2024 at the age of 73. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Waldeck Hurak (Gene); his granddaughter Olivia; his daughter Jayme Waldeck Cranfill (Jamie); his close friend Richard Cooke (Dicky); his son-in-law Gene Hurak; his cousins, Amelia Ann VanVoorhis, Janie Bailey (Bill), Mary Ann Blankenship (Mike) and Raven Asay Miller; his pet Smokey; his wife Nina Gail Alkire Waldeck; his granddaughter Allison Hurak; his stepgrandchildren, Alyssa and Luke Cranfill; his brother Roger Lee Waldeck Jr. of Hot Springs, VA; his siblings-in-law, Tim Alkire (Kathy) of Jacksonville, FL and Billie Jo Alkire Simoneau (Peter) of Deland, FL; his nieces and nephews, Roger Lee Waldeck III (Shannan) of Millboro, VA, Amy Waldeck Walton of Mebane, NC, Johnathan Alkire (Nikki) of Charlotte, NC, Zach Alkire (Sierra) of Fernandina Beach, FL and Alexis Simoneau Langley (Dennis) of Tallahassee, FL.; and also, Alyssa, Luke, Lincoln and Channing Miller.
