He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ann Rose; his parents, Alexander Clifford Nichols, Sr. and Alice Eades Nichols; his son Joe Rhondal Nichols II; and his siblings, Alexander C Nichols Jr., Richard L Nichols, Lucille Craig, Marjorie Skidmore, Pauline Wilkerson and Veva Helms.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Nichols Grey (Tim) of Morgantown, Joyce Rhonda Nichols Schnese (Tad) of Anchorage, AK, Darrell of Fairlea and Michael (Katrina White) of Eagle River, AK.; his grandchildren, Derek Snyder, Joseph, John Ives and Olivia Nichols; and his half-brothers, Charles Nichols (Pete), James Larry Nichols, Sr., Douglas Nichols (Johnny) and Harold Wayne Nichols.
