We are sad to announce that on February 22, 2021, at the age of 88, Edna Wiley Burwell of Sinks Grove, West Virginia, born in Athens, West Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Roy Samuel Burwell; her parents, Marcus Wiley and Lois Wiley; and her siblings, Nace Wiley, Eugene Wiley, Rhonda Hylton and Trixie Long.
She is survived by: her siblings, Polly Plunkett of Sevierville, TN, Joe Wiley (Genieve) of Ronceverte and Charlie Wiley (Teresa) of Covington, VA; her sister-in-law Betty Burwell; her children, Freda Bostic (Rick) of Sinks Grove, Shirley Reed (Raymond) of Sinks Grove, Roger Cosgro of Thailand and Mark Burwell (Kim) of Harrisonburg, VA.; her grandchildren, Stacey Phipps (Jack) of Sinks Grove, Jennifer Hunter (Chris) of Caldwell, Alicia Winters (Billy) of Lewisburg, Nathan Carter (Meredith) of Valdosta, GA, Melissa Griffith (Darren) of Gap Mills, Sam Burwell (Kaity) of Exton, PA, Amy Burwell of Harrisonburg, VA and Alexander Cosgro of Russia; her great grandchildren, Taylor Mann (Garrett) of Ballard, Noah, Evan Hunter of Caldwell, Shannon, Jackson Phipps of Sinks Grove, Landon Carter of Valdosta, GA, Peighton, Paxton Griffith of Gap Mills, Will, Jace Winters of Lewisburg and Roy Burwell of Exton, PA.; and her great great grandchild Lyra Mann of Ballard. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
Due to COVID-19 Pandemic regulations, those who are planning on attending the services are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monroe County 4-H foundation or Mt. Pleasant Community Church in her honor.
