He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert LaFon and Effie Pine-LaFon; and his siblings, Raymond LaFon, Carl LaFon, Clifford "Kip" LaFon, Norma LaFon-Hughes, Velma LaFon-Damron, Mary Ann LaFon-Edge, Margaret LaFon-Spaulding and Ruby LaFon.
He is survived by: his children, Howard and Little League; his wife Shirley Saunders-LaFon; his son John; his daughter-in-law Margaret LaFon; his daughter Allison LaFon; his grandchildren, Derek LaFon (Monica), Brooke LaFon and Megan LaFon (Rafael); and his great grandchildren, Lyanna Mora and Jackson Howard Mora.
