It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Barry McClain of Shinnston, West Virginia, born in Fairmont, West Virginia, who passed away on February 2, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joyce McClain and Bill McClain; his parents-in-law, Katherine and Sam Verdigone of Shinnston; his nieces, Angela Kay and Andrea Renae Daugherty; his aunt Florence; and his uncle Paul McClain of Farmington.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda McClain; his children, Brian, Brett, Brad, Ben and Bridget Merritt (Dustin); his grandson Luke Merritt of Shinnston; his sister Carolyn Daugherty (Gary); his niece Joyce Marie Rittenhouse (Tracel); his great-niece Kaitlyn; his niece Diana Daugherty of Clarksburg; and his pets, Lucy and Neka. He is also survived by his family and friends.
