She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Raymond Shipe and Gladys "Carpenter" Shipe of Virginia; her husband Edward Calvin Simpson; and her sister Nancy Folkedahl. She is survived by: her children, Calvin Simpson (Leslie) of Shepherdstown, Melissa Welsh (Wesley) of Kearneysville, Deborah Helms (Jimmy) of Licolnton, NC and Sharon Dyer (Allen); her grandchildren, Brandon Welsh, Matthew Helms, Jason Dyer, Zeb Dyer, Kayla Welsh and Kelley Miles; and her siblings, Carolyn Gaffney and Scott Shipe. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
