He was predeceased by: his parents, James S. Fadeley, Sr. and Mary Rutherford Fadeley; his brothers, James S. Fadeley, Jr. and John "Bussy" Fadeley; and his daughter Tammy Fadeley Powell.

He is survived by: his wife Judith S. Fadeley; his son Richard A. Fadeley, Jr.; his siblings, Sherry Cain (Robbie), Nadine "Peachie" Tabb (David) and Robert Fadeley (Christine); his grandchildren, Sabrea Funk, D. J. Pruitt, Jenna Mullenax and Kenny Fadeley; and his great grandchildren, Wyett Funk, Ayla Funk and Raelyn Mullenax. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box F, Shepherdstown, WV 25443.
