He is survived by: his parent Nellie L. Hayes Whittington; his wife Mary Ann Carroll Whittington; his stepdaughter Debbie Bucher; and his great grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler and Hailey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
