He is survived by: his parent Mabel Ethel Connolly Smith; his wife Mary Teresa; his children, Mary Anne Harding of Austin, TX, Catherine Jeanne Pennington (Greg) of Herndon, VA, John Clayton Smith of Potomac, MD, Robert Clyde Smith of Shepherdstown and Thomas Gerard Smith (Katherine) of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Christopher Harding, Jeremy Harding, Emily Pennington, Julia Pennington, Claire Pennington, Jack Smith, Kaitlin Smith, Jennifer Smith, Caroline Smith, Elizabeth Smith and Clayton Smith; and his great grandchild Alice Harding.
