Barbara Marie Brown Obituary

We bid farewell to Barbara Marie Brown of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 4, 2024 at the age of 81. Barbara touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Byington Maddex Jr. and Geraldine Marie James Maddex; her husband Richard Hendricks Brown Sr.; and her brother Henry Byington Maddex, III (HB). She is survived by: her children, Richard Brown (Kim), Ronald Brown (Maria), Elizabeth Sigler (Ronnie), Amanda Lutman (Todd), Kathryn Slaven (Jeff) and Margaret Henderson (Patrick); her sisters, Nancy Byington Maddex Cleaver of Shepherdstown and Margaret Rose Maddex Altieri of Purcellville, VA; and her sister-in-law Florence Ann Brown Best of Shenandoah Junction. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In leu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Martinsburg Rescue Mission or New Street United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown.
