She was predeceased by: her husband Dennis Jones; and her parents, Linda Mannon and Dayton Gillenwater. She is survived by: her daughters, Kaitlyn Rhodes (Jacob) and Briann Steele (Timothy); her grandchildren, Waylon Rhodes and Alorianna Steele; and her siblings, Barbarah McElhaney (Richard), Melinda Zirkle (Tom) and Charles Gillenwater.

“In loving memory of Wendella Gale Jones, Wende and I were in the same graduating class at St. Mary' School of Nursing, 1983. When I think of Wende, my face lights up. All I can say is that Heaven must have needed a very witty and funny angel with a heart of gold. My father passed away several years ago and Wende came to see me at his viewing, to comfort me, that was Wende, always there when you needed a friend.”
