He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira DeWitt and Mabel DeWitt; his wife Maxine DeWitt; his son Lonnie Gene DeWitt; his stepson Doug Angus; his granddaughter Christy DeWitt; his brother Robert "Bob" DeWitt; and his great grandchild Christian Joel Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Hill (Hope) and Dr. Michael DeWitt (Carla); his stepchildren, Rita Hill (Douglas), Norse Angus (Sherri), Terry Angus (Rennie) and Joseph Angus (Rina); and his sisters, Betty and Lois. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
