She was predeceased by: her parents, James Bowles and Emma Wheeler Bowles; her husband Curt Adkins; her sons, Jackie and David Cales; her grandchildren, Mike Ruger and Sandra Cales; her great grandchildren, Savannah Sue Cales and Summer Marie Cales; and her siblings, Ina, Nellie, Juanita, Charlene, Clara, Zelma, Conward and Eugene.
She is survived by: her children, Margie Ruger (Norm) of Ohio, Hayward Cales of Sandstone and Jimmy Cales of North Carolina; her sister Lorene Ayers; and her close friends, Nicholas Ellison and Natalia Sampson. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and two great great great grandchildren.
