He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis E. Freeman and Susie Davis Freeman; and his siblings, Harold Freeman (Orpha Williams), Rosalie Minnich-Bennett (Herb Minnich), Kathryn Hill (Bill Hill), Willis A. Freeman (Shirley Williams) and Robert Ray Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Bessie Post Freeman; his children, Teresa Hooton (Brian) of Clarksburg, Michele Shaw (Jim) of Salem and John "JT" Freeman (Sarah Freeman); his grandchildren, Garrett Hooton, Twylia Pumphrey (Jimmy), Lexus Gaines (Shaine), Shelby Shaw (Ben Moore) and Aaliyah Freeman; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Lena Moore, Sylas Gaines, Nora and Tripp Pumphrey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family.
