He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Burr and Wilma Burr of Salem; and his siblings, Gene Burr, Glenn Burr, Mary Jo and Lyle.

He is survived by: his wife Monika Burr; his siblings, Laura Jo Hastings (Bob Hastings) of Salem, Jean Knight (W. Va) of Parkersburg and Jennings Burr of Salem; his children, Tracey Burr Cork of Salem, R. Mike Burr (Molly Bassett-Burr) of Atlanta, G. A. and Megan Hatcher (W. Va) of Morgantown; and his grandchildren, Josiah, Christian Cork of Salem, Jennings, Dorrance Burr of Atlanta, G. A., Maya, Atticus Hatcher of Morgantown and W. Va. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Harrison County in his name or brought to the services in the form of monetary donations, kitty litter or Purina brand cat or kitten chow, which are the current needs at the shelter.
