He is survived by: his children, Jean Strosnider (Randy) of Bridgeport, Jo Devericks (Michael) of Clarksburg, Jane Perine Of Harrisville (Bobby), Jennifer Merritt of West Union, Josie Hardesty (Greg) of Columbia, MD, Jim Merritt (Jane) of West Union and Jeff Merritt (Luanne) of Salem; and his grandchildren, Joshua Merritt, Amanda Gump, Scott Strosnider, Corey Devericks, Bobbi Jo Ridenour, Tracy Messenger, Stephanie Black, Katie Devericks, Jason Perine, Rachelle Coffey, Rebecca Prunty, Shilo Merritt, Dakota Merritt, Levi Merritt, Justin Dotson, Maria Dotson, Lindsi Harper, Benjamin Merritt and Brandon Hardesty. He is also survived by thirty seven great-grandchildren.
