It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Nathan Underwood of Salem, West Virginia, born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 23, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John N. Underwood Jr. and Dolly Myrtle Leak Underwood. He is survived by: his wife Estelene C. "Kay" Underwood; his daughters, Nancy Shannan and Sharla Patterson of Weleetka, OK; his brother Wayne L. Underwood; his siblings-in-law, Willadean Simpson (Jerry), Luville Riddle of Tulsa, OK and John W. Riddle (Phyllis); and his cousin Mike Underwood (Barbara). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful caretakers John had during his lengthly illness with Alzheimer's; Stacey Wright, Tina Ferrell and the great hospice team and especially Danielle who comforted him in his last hours.
