He was predeceased by: his parents, Late Melvin and Waveline Fox Hickman; and his siblings, Donald, Eugene, Jennings Hickman, Carol Hickman and Georgia Moran.

He is survived by: his children, Melanie Chipps of Clarksburg, James Hickman (Rebecca) of Salem, Jennifer Southall of Statesboro, GA and Donald Hickman of Fairmont. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
