He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon D DeLong and Elisabeth Royer DeLong Schubach; his children, Peter DeLong and Amy DeLong; and his sister Gail Esther "Heidi" Waybright.

He is survived by: his wife Fawzia Dawn Drake DeLong; his sons, Benjamin Paul DeLong (Melany) and Todd Adam DeLong (Carmen); his grandchildren, Brooke Logan Fisher (Logan), Alexis Victoria DeLong, Gabrielle Elisabeth Diane DeLong, Mackenzie Gayle DeLong and Adam Paul DeLong; his great grandchild Peyton Joyce Fisher; his stepfather Wayne Schubach; and his siblings, David DeLong (Linda), Daniel DeLong (Lorie), Derwood DeLong (Connie), Damon "Skip" DeLong, Sara DeLong and Darren DeLong. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Red Cross, 113 Lakeview Dr, Charleston, WV 25313.
