He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Beal and Hilda Javens Beal; and his brother Richard Javens. He is survived by: his wife Diana Wedge Beal; his children, Gary Ludt of Wellsville, Jessie Ludt of Chippewa, PA., Russell Lightner of Salineville, Howard Lightner of Columbus and Patty Exline (George) of Wellsville; and his sister Carrie Higgins. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews.
