He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Forrest and Lily Grace Green Smith; and his siblings, Virginia Louise Cox and Charles Okey Smith. He is survived by: his wife Louise Winland Smith; his children, Carron Smith (Bill Hunt) of Charleston, WV and Matthew Smith (Joanne) of St. Marys, WV; his grandchildren, Kiley Cullen (Justin) of Berwyn Heights, MD and Mason Wilfong (Sierra); his great grandchildren, Elijah and Annalese of Rockport, WV; and his grandchild Braden Wilfong of Elko, NV..
