He was predeceased by: his parents, John C Thompson and Alice M Thompson; his daughter Patricia Thompson of St. Albans; and his siblings, Lewis Thompson of Canton, OH, Mary Wells of Chicago, IL., Phillip Thompson of Chicago, IL. and Linda Kyle of Chicago, IL..

He is survived by: his wife Eva Thompson; his children, William Thompson (Sherry) of Columbus, OH, Roxie Geiger, John Thompson Jr., Robert Thompson (Sharinyce), Barbara Jackson (Gamal) of Greenville, SC, Jessica Calhoun (Lawrence) and Kathleen Booker Thompson; his siblings, David Thompson (Staisha) of Canton, OH and Jean Busby of Canton, OH; and his sister-in-law Daisy Thompson of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by grand children, great-grand children and great-great grand children, along with a host of other relatives.

Due to covid-19 restrictions, a private Home-going service for the immediate family will begin at 11:00 a. m.
