He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Patterson and Ada Patterson; and his siblings, Garland Patterson, Geraldine Bryan and Madeline Hensley.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Linda Layne (Brad), Georgia, Richard (Marie) and Randall; and his grandchildren, William Ireland III, Matthew Ireland, Connor Patterson, Elliott Patterson and Maleigh Patterson. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
