He was predeceased by: his parents, David Buster and Leatrice Marie Simmons Sharp; and his half-brother Pat Simmons. He is survived by: his son David Lee Sharp (Jaimee) of Beckley, WV; his brother Joe David Sharp of Lewisburg, WV; his grandchildren, Wesley, Madilyn Sharp, Chloe Black and Jada Oneal; his niece Jennifer Miller; and his cousins, Carol Sue Workman, Frankie Appel, Bernie and Garland Simmons.
