He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Beard and Darie Susan Dahmer Bennett; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Donald, Ronald Bennett, Rachel Mines, Delorse Dowdy and Ernestine Morgan.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Bennett; his son Jimmy Bennett (Crissy) of Ronceverte, WV; his sisters, Susanne Honaker (A. J.) of Caldwell, WV, Aretha Dowdy of Caldwell, WV, Theda Hoke (Edward Jr.) of Lewisburg, WV and Genevieve Wiley (Joe) of Ronceverte, WV; his grandchildren, Dustin Bennett, Brittany Duncan (Cody) and Tori Bennett; and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Alexis and Asher Bennett. He is also survived by several nieces, and nephews.
