It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Shockey of Romney, West Virginia, born in Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Carter and Audra Carter (Poland); her husband Elburn Harmon Shockey; her siblings, Bonnie Rose, Tom Carter and Conda Carter; and her grandson Joshua Shanholtz.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Linger (Tom) of Romney, WV, Annette Rowan (Tom) of Romney, WV and Elby Shockey (Mary) of Romney, WV; her grandchildren, Chris Shanholtz (Jennie), Heather Staggs (Michael) and Shelby Shockey; and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Emma Shanholtz, Alexa Staggs and Ember Zirk.
