He is survived by: his parent Gladys Steele Pertee; his children, Charles Lee Pertee (Melanie) of Virginia Beach, VA, John Richard Pertee (Mary Ann) of Oakvale, WV, Sheri Pertee Fraser (John) of Dinwiddle, VA and Joshua Ray Pertee (Amber) of Courtland, VA; his sister Ruth Jane Lowe of Titusville; his grandchildren, Stacie Tate, Jessica Garlic, Kayla Elliott, John Robert Pertee, Culley Dewayne Pertee, Amanda Gilliam, Cody Norman, Jody Norman, Ashley Shifflett, Audrey Pertee and Jacob Pertee; his significant other David Blankenship; and also, Rita Blankenship and Christopher Walls. He is also survived by father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
