He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Dave Lester and Lola Rachel Richards Lester; his wife Mary Lester; and his siblings, Selma Lester Hall, Loris Lester, Arlie Lester, Elzie Lester and Opal Lester Eversole.

He is survived by: his sisters, Pauline Lester Price and Virginia Lester Wheeler; and his grandchildren, Misty Jones, Carl Mullins and Justin Coleman.
