He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorsel Scarberry and Elizabeth Scarberry; and his brothers, Homer and Charles Scarberry. He is survived by: his wife Erma; his daughters, Diana Saul and Debra Holstein; his sons-in-law, David Saul and Todd Holstein; his grandchildren, Lindsey Welch (Ryan) and Tyler Holstein; and his siblings, Stella Kersey, Mary Reed and Jimmy Scarberry. He is also survived by two great grandchildren.
